NOUN: SHROUD SEGMENT, TURB; NSN: 2840-01-356-4272 NZ; P/N: 4080390-01; QTY: 16; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: 31 MAY 2007 to overseas countries; APPLICABLE TO: F100/200/220/229 Engine. DIMENSIONS: 7 IN x 1 IN x .25 IN. MATERIAL: NICKEL ALLOY. FUNCTION: A SEGMENT OF A COMPLETE RING WITH HONEYCOMB MATERIAL WHICH SEALS AIR BETWEEN COMPRESSOR STAGES ON THE 229 ENGINE. Anticipated Solicitation issue date: 2 APR 07. Anticipated award date: MAY 07. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. If an offeror?s SAR package is approved, but a first article is required, the solicitation will be amended to include first article line items and clauses. Further information on how to become source approved may be found at www-ext.tinker.af.mil/BC/. To receive Government drawings, FEDTEDs registration is required. TO: Pratt and Whitney, and Smith Aerospace Components. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor Concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict Confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
