- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intends to procure the following radiation detection equipment from Advanced Measurement Technology (ORTEC), Inc., 801 South Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-0895, on a sole source basis: 1)Model DETEX-PAC-PKG-1. Includes DETECTIVE-EX Portable HPGe Identifier (Gamma and Neutron), AC/DC power adapter/charger (PAC), automobile power cables, shoulder strap, A65-B32 software, and compact wheeled transport case. Does not include check source. 2)Model DETECTIVE-OPT-2-US. 18 Ah Battery Belt and Universal Charger with US Power Cord for Detective or Detective-EX PRB18, 18 Ah Battery (lasts for ~8 hrs). Charger included with US Power Cord. Weight ~12 lb. 3)Model NAI-SS. NaI-based Radiation Search System Includes 1 ea. 4x4x16" NaI(Tl) detector (10% FWHM resolution or better) 2 ea. 25 mm D x 500 mm L He-3 tubes with poly Moderator digiBASE 14-Pin PMT Base with digital MCA, Preamplifier, and HV supply Carrying Case Laptop PC Comprehensive data acquisition and analysis software with integrated global positioning sensor, mapping software and accessories. 4) Model NaI-SS-Upgrade. NAI-SS Software Update and Hardware Repackaging. DHS believes that Advanced Measurement Technology is the only provider of the items. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements of this Notice must provide written notification to the Contract Specilaist, Phorsha Peel, at phorsha.peel@dhs.gov, by Monday, March 19, 2006,3:00PM EDT. A firm submitting information should provide supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the capability of the firm to provide the equipment. Reference numbered note 22.
