- CHALLENGE 2007-3, Detroit, Michigan (MI) The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for Hotel Accommodations and Hotel services located in the geographic area Detroit, Michigan (MI). The Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal agency and therefore exempt from any taxes. The tax exemption document will be provided upon award of the contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefit Administration, Office of Employee Development and Training will be participating in the Challenge 2007-3. The breakdown for hotel accommodations are estimated as follows; Wednesday 4/18 (3) Thursday 4/19 (3) Friday 4/20 (3) Saturday 4/21 (3) Sunday 4/22 (3) Monday 4/23 (33) Tuesday 4/24 (33) Wednesday 4/25 (33) Thursday 4/26 (33) Friday 4/27 (33) Saturday 4/28 (33) Sunday 4/29 (33) Monday 4/30 (33) Tuesday 5/1 (33) Wednesday 5/2 (33) Thursday 5/3 (33) Friday 5/4 (33) Saturday 5/5 (33) Sunday 5/6 (33) Monday 5/7 (33) Tuesday 5/8 (33) Wednesday 5/9 (33) Thursday 5/10 (33) and check out on Friday 5/11. Based on the breakdown described above, the total rooms requested are 609 each. PAYMENTS FOR ROOMS SHALL BE VIA PURCHASE ORDER. The following are the requirements Government rates or lower, hotel must be in compliance with the Americans Disability Act (ADA), must be registered and active in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at the closing date and time of proposal or earlier, must have a Duns and Bradstreet Number which must be included in proposal, no penalty for rooms not used, must have availability to lodge all participants in one hotel, can provide shuttle service to training site if distance is greater than 4 blocks, (Training Site - VARO 477 Michigan Ave., Detroit, MI), on site self-laundry or within 3 blocks of a self-laundry, microwaves and refrigerators in room or access to them, restaurants on site or within 4 blocks of hotel, on site fitness center or privileges to a fitness center within 4 blocks of the hotel, and available parking. All, the offerors must include the RFP number on their proposal; otherwise your proposal will be considered unresponsive. The website for CCR is www.ccr.gov. The specific instructions contained herein are intended to serve as a guideline for the preparation of the proposal. In developing the proposal, the Offeror shall comply with the requirements stated in this solicitation by answering yes or no to each requirement as listed above. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD WITHOUT DISCUSSIONS. Therefore, each offeror is urged to examine this request for proposal in its entirety and to ensure that their proposal contains all necessary information, provides all required documentation, and is complete in all aspects. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
