- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCG Station Fort Myers Beach, 41 Foot Utility Boat (CG-41505). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about March 22, 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps-gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request via e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is Fort Meyers, FL. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date on or about April 16, 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for 1) Welding Repairs; 2) UT Shot Hull Testing; 3) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; 4) Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks (Includes Disposal); 5) Inspect Cabin Top; 6) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; 7) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings; 8) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers; 9) Inspect Engine Exhaust Piping; 10) Clean and Inspect Heat Exchangers; 11) Inspect Exhaust Mufflers; 12) Renew Valves; 13) Inspect and Overhaul Duplex Sea Strainers; 14) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies; 15) Inspect Various Deck Fittings; 16) Preserve Underwater Body; 17) Preserve Freeboard; 18) Preserve Fiberglass Cabin Top Horizontal Surfaces; 19) Routine Drydocking; 20) Provide Temporary Logistics; 21) Remove and Reinstall Cabin Top Windows; 22) Inspect Fire Pump Foundation and Renew Components; 23) Relocate Searchlight; 24) Renew Port Side Life Ring Bracket. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The geographic restriction is limited to a facility within 288 nautical miles, on navigable waterways and not more than 30 nautical miles off shore of Ft. Myers, FL.
