Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research. This is NOT a Request for Proposal. The following information is requested to assist the United States Marine Corps Direct Reporting Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (DRPM AAA) in determining the availability of non-developmental items (NDI) or commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) for the replacement of the Hydraulic Remote Intensifier on the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. DRPM AAA is considering participation in the Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) Program and an alternative for the Hydraulic Remote Intensifier should accomplish/possess the following specifics and capabilities: Integration into the EFV of a COTS hydraulic intensifier unit capable of pressurizing a hydraulic circuit, from system supplied pressure of 3750 psi, to 30,000 psi. The intensifier must be existing COTS and capable of being integrated into the EFV with minimal design modifications of the vehicle, that can be removed or replaced without removal of the manifold housing from the main hydraulic circuit. Unit weight cannot exceed 40 lbs total. Units must be corrosion resistant in sea water and standard military POL environments (oil, JP8, coolant). Shock and Vibration requirements will be governed by MIL STD 810F. Companies interested in responding to this request should provide existing COTS design characteristics and performance data, all materials of construction, electronic or hard copy brochures of existing products, the name and telephone number of a company representative that can be contacted, and the company's address. Contractors should submit responses electronically to Robin Kuschel at Kuschelrj@efv.usmc.mil, no later than 5:00 PM EST on March 29, 2007. It is emphasized this information is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for infor mation solicited. Information submitted to DRPM AAA in response to th is notice will be treated as subject to the Trade Secrets Act and not generally releasable to the public unless otherwise indicated. Any information provided will not be returned. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. Questions should be directed to: Robin Kuschel at (703) 492-3158 or Kuschelrj@efv.usmc.mil.
