Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Ammunition intends to solicit by full and open competition 83mm Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon (SMAW) Ammunition as follows: SMAW-HEAA, Rocket Encased SMAW-HEAA MK6-0, DODIC HX06, NSN 1340-01-227-8870. The estimated quantity required is 2,800 rockets. The primary objective of this announcement is to identify the forthcoming requirement to industry and to identify specific requirements that interested parties must meet to compete for the requirement. Interested parties must: 1) Have existing production tooling / line capable for comparable items; 2) Have the capability to meet all U. S. Government and Military CONUS / OCONUS storage requirements / restrictions normally imposed on storage of similar munitions; 3) Have the technical expertise and facilities to conduct standard North Atlantic Treaty Organization/ Insensitive Munitions (NATO/IM) safety tests prior to delivery of ammunition; and 4) Must! follow all U.S. DOT transportation regulations and not alter the transportation requirements of any vehicle that carries said item. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 332993, Ammunition (Except Small Arms) Manufacturing. All contractors who provide goods/services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). Any forthcoming solicitation will require online certifications and representations (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov. Failure to comply with ORCA registration may make the offeror ineligible for award. A solicitation is expected to be released to industry on or around 16 April 2007.
