- Description
- The U.S. Army ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking potential sources for the manufacture of Shock Attenuating Lifting Plugs for 155mm Projectile Bodies. The Lifting Plugs are to be made from malleable iron casting (i.e. ASTM A47 or ASTM A602), with a 2.000-12UNS thread, a flange diameter of approximately 3.80 inches, and an outer loop diameter of approximately 1.80 inches. The Lifting Plugs are to be made to a specified drawing that involves machining to specified tolerances, and must be inspected in accordance with a defined inspection plan. Delivery requirements of up to 20,000 Plugs per month will necessitate the use of high volume production equipment, including machining equipment, metal finishing facilities, and packaging equipment. This production volume will also necessitate the use of dedicated gaging equipment. Respondents must demonstrate that they have the capability to satisfy the above requirements, with available skills, equipment, personnel, and facilities to perform the necessary manufacturing operations. Government owned equipment is not available. This announcement is for informational planning purposes only, and is not a Request For Proposal. Interested manufacturers are requested to submit a capabilities statement by E-mail to christina.nigro@pica.army.mil. The statement should address, at a minimum, the items delineated under the numbered note indicated below. Numbered Note #25 applies.
