- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Freedom Scientific Corporation, 11800 31st Court North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33716 for the acquisition of onsite technical support services for Job Access with Speech (JAWS) and Magnification in color (MAGic) assistive software used at SSA for employees with disabilities. This is under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements?. The contractor is required to address and resolve technical issues related to JAWS and MAGic, and their interface with a variety of SSA internally designed applications. Freedom Scientific Corporation is the developer of the Freedom Scientific JAWS and MACic assistive software. The Government anticipates the award of a firm fixed price contract for one (1) Base Year and four (4) Option Years. Vendors having the capability and experience to provide the services detailed herein are invited to submit complete details regarding their technical capabilities and expertise. The Government will consider all responses to this notice, but a determination by the Government to conduct a sole source acquisition remains at the discretion of the Government. Information submitted in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining the feasibility of conducting a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received. This notice is neither a request for quotation nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
