- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, MD, intends to negotiate and award a modification to a current cost plus fixed fee order to procure technical and engineering support to modify one additional CH-46E aircraft at MCAS New River with the Aircraft Integrated Maintenance System (AIMS), under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-05-G-0012. There is currently an on-going effort to modify seven (7) CH-46E helicopters at MCAS New River with the AIMS. The AIMS is a rotor track and balance, vibration, and engine monitoring system. The AIMS system has proven to be a tremendous asset in identification of maintenance actions and increase system safety by providing real time indications of component health. The proposed modification will be awarded on a sole source basis to the Boeing Company, Ridley Park, PA, and Boeing Aerospace Operations (BAO), Oklahoma City, OK. The period of performance for this effort will be extended to 30 June 2007. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code, Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
