- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested perso ns may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is a sole source to CORNING INCORPORATED, SPECIAL MATERIALS DIVISION, 1 RIVERFRONT PLAZA, CORNING, NY 14831 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. (ii) The solicitation number is W911QX-07-T-0059. This acquisition is issued as a Request for Proposal. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 1-27 (iv) The associated NAICS code is 327212 (v) The following is a list of contract line item number(s) and items, quantities and units of measure, CLIN 0001: 100 Sq Ft of Corning Code 7056 Borosilicate Glass in thickness up to 4 inches. To be delivered in 14 inch by 14 inch block size exclusive of f inishing. Glass castings of 14 inches by 14 inches shall be finished to customer specified thicknesses from 2.5 inches to 4 inches. The following specifications apply: thickness tolerances are +/- .01 inch, size tolerances are +/- .01 inch, edges shall be as cut (waterjet or wiresaw), surface finish is 80/50 or sufficient for window quality. (vi) Delivery is required by September 2007. Delivery shall be made to US Army Research Laboratory, ARL Receiving Section, Bldg 434, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 2 1005. Acceptance shall be performed at US Army Research Laboratory, APG, MD 21005. (vii) The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following addenda have been attached to this provision: None (viii) Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, and DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Representations and Certifications -Commercial Items, with its offer.
