- The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services to upgrade the emergency generator system at U.S. Coast Guard Station Juneau from manual to automatic. This work is located at the U. S. Coast Guard property on Egan Drive in Juneau, Alaska. Services include removal of existing manual transfer switch and pull box, removal of dock float breaker and enclosure, removal of existing conduit and wire from existing manual transfer switch to the dock float breaker and from the dock float breaker to the transformer on the dock, the installation and acceptance testing of an automatic transfer switch. Related services include providing control connection between the automatic transfer switch and the existing emergency generator including but not limited to conduit, wire, fittings and accessories and the modification of the emergency generator controls as needed to enable automatic operation. The existing generator is an Onan Quiet Site II, self contained diesel engine generator set, Model DGFA 3373395, serial number f990930167, 480/277 volt, 3 phase, 150 kVA. The contractor must be experienced in installing generator systems and system controls. Proof of such experience and expertise will be required prior to any offer of contract award. A list of recent projects within the past three years shall be provided with the price quote. All services shall be provided and completed within 60 calendar days after award of contract. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The NAICS Code 811310 is assigned. The size standard is $6.5 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All qualified responsible small businesses may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Solicitation document may be accessed for download from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be on or about March 15, 2007) at the following site: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. The technical data package (specifications and drawings) will only be available through a link in FedBizOpps to the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) website. Firms must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and FedTeDS database to be able to access the technical data package. A planholders list will not be available for this project from CEU-Juneau.
