Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), PG-13 Infantry Weapons Systems (IWS), Optics and Non-Lethal Systems (ONS), intends to award a sole source contract to Newport Stratford Incorporated (150 Long Beach Boulevard Stratford, CT. 06615) for required optical support equipment as defined in the following list: 2 motorized ?long travel? linear translation stages with drive modules, one motorized rotation stage, one ultra stable XY translation stage, two spectral calibration lamps with power supplies and two large platform laboratory jacks. These components must be compatible with existing facility equipment; therefore, the motorized translation must readily connect to the controller unit presently in operation in the EOTF; the rotation stage must be compatible with the existing rotation stage and both shall be controllable by one unit. Newport Corporation?s products are used extensively through out the photonics industry and with in government laboratories and provide a broad listing of optics laboratory equipment. A product description is attached. All contractors who provide goods/services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). Online Certifications and Representations at (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov, will also be required. Failure to comply with ORCA registration may make a vendor offeror ineligible for award. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, and past performance data no later than 4:00pm local time on March 6, 2007. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
