Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for professional carpet cleaning services at the San Francisco VA Medical Center located at 4150 Clement Street, San Francisco, CA 94121. The Contractor will provide equipment, materials, and man-power to provide the following services: Carpet Extraction Cleaning carpet will be dry vacuumed to remove all moveable dust and debris. Carpet will be pre treated with a commercially manufactured product which acts as a pretreatment for an assortment of stains. Furniture legs or foot pads will be placed onto special strips or pads to prevent formulation of rust onto carpet. Carpet will be wet extracted with truck mounted extraction system with the use of a detergent solution specifically formulated for this type of extraction cleaning system. Difficult spots or soiled areas will receive extra cleaning to remove soilage. Detergent solution will not leave a soap residue. Carpet will be well extracted to prevent excess moisture or soilage to remain. Carpet protector i.e. 3M Scotch Guard will be applied to all cleaned carpet surfaces to protect the carpet after every second extraction. Disposable "Wet Floor" signs will be taped to all entrances and exits where carpet is cleaned. Electric blowers will be installed at the completion of the carpet cleaning process to ensure carpet drying and be picked up the following day. All furniture and furnishings will be returned to their original positions and protected from rust transference. Work will be performed on the third (3rd) Thursday of each month beginning at 6:30 PM. This is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 561740. The size standard for this NAICS code is $4.5 million. The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price contract. The period of performance will be for one (1) base year with four (4) option years, if exercised. THE SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The approximate solicitation release date is on or about March 16, 2007. The solicitation will be available solely through FedBizOpps. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued under solicitation number VA-261-07-RP-0045. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) at www.fedbizopps.gov. All interested parties must obtain or have a Dunn and Bradstreet Number, Federal Identification Number (FID) and be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
