- The US Department of Agricultural Research Service in Wapato location?s controlled atmosphere research facility consists of 140 gas-tight chambers in which fruit is stored in low oxygen and/or high carbon dioxide atmospheres. Hardware and software controlling and monitoring the gas composition of the chambers was installed in the early 1990?s. The computer control system is operating on the original computer. The control system is a unique application of atmosphere control technology designed specifically to work with our existing system and we know of no other source other then Techni-Systems LLC. who have sufficient working knowledge of the hardware portion of this system to design appropriate software controls. The software under consideration has been extensively updated since the original installation and provides a significantly increased capacity for control and monitoring of the system. The system will consist of 2 computerized control systems, control logic and graphic screens will be re-programmed and controlled by two provided computer. We intend on negotiating with the only know source Teehni-Systems LLC an RFQ is not available for this requirement interested firms are encouraged to submit proposals by mail or fax to the attention of Fred Gifford as listed in this notice.
