Description
The Engineer Research & Development Center, Airfields and Pavement Branch (APB) of the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory, has a requirement for Polymerization of Pour Foams. Two rigid, expanding polyurethane foams are needed to repair three 5 ft by 5 ft and four 8 ft by 8 ft bomb craters. Adequate strength and expansion ratios are needed for these materials to support a 32,325 lb weight within a pavement structure. These foams need to expand several times their original volume (unreacted) and p rovide densities of 8 and 15 pcf, respectively to provide adequate strength in the field. The foam must be delivered prior to March 26. Product Specification: 1. Four gallons Foam A - Must be a rigid polyurethane foam (closed-cell); Minimum density of 15 pcf; Minimum expansion ratio of 4; Demoldable in less than 1 hour; Maximum individual components to initiate foam reaction is 2; Water must not be necessary to activate foam expansion; Material must be mixable by hand or drill; Material must be pourable (not injection); The product identified in laboratory testing was Foam-iT 15. 2. Four gallons Foam B - Must be a rigid polyurethane foam (closed-cell); Density of 8 pcf; Minimum expansion ratio of 5; Demoldable in less than 1 hour; Maximum individual c omponents to initiate foam reaction is 2; Water must not be necessary to activate foam expansion; Material must be mixable by hand or drill; Material must be pourable (not injection); The product identified in laboratory testing was Pour Foam 8. 3. Five F oam IT Drum Units. 4. Shipping charges if FOB Origin. Specifications of the products quoted shall be furnished with the quote. The award will be make on or about March 20, 2007. If you are interested in submitting a quote, call Brenda J. Raphelt at 601 /631-7905 or email at Brenda.J.Raphelt@mvk02.usace.army.mil.
