- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Thornwood, NY 10594, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is for a AxioObserver A1 Inverted Fluorescence and DIC Research Microscope System. The system must be capable of viewing and capturing images from both transmitted and fluorescent micro-samples from both tissue culture dishes and glass microslides, and be able to be upgraded to image live cells. The instrument must also have at least 23 mm field of view and at least 0.55NA condenser for high resolution. The instrument must also have a apochromatically corrected fluorescent light train to allow optimal fluorescence illumination. The microscope system consists of the items listed on the attached specification sheet which reflects Carl Zeiss Microimaging catalog numbers and quantities of each item. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 10 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Carl Zeiss Microimaging. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500 Emp. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
