- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Johnson Controls Inc. The contract is to demolish and remove an existing access control system at the Cincinnati, Ohio, Taft and Hamilton sites, then provide and install a complete P2000 access control system. Integrate into the existing CDC P2000 Enterprise system in Atlanta. Due to security requirements and sensitive areas at CDC the contractor must have a SECRET clearance by CDC and a DOJ select agent clearance prior to award. The performance period is 180 days starting April 1, 2007. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1 in that Johnson Controls is the only source for the Pegasys 2000 access control system. Johnson Controls also possesses the require security clearances to work on the P-2000 at CDC. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
