- The United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Southern Region Office in Atlanta, Georgia intends to issue a RFP on or about February 5, 2007. The Government requires the services of a contractor to perform professional consulting services for the Recreation, Wilderness and Heritage Unit of the USDA Forest Service, Southern Region. The contractor shall provide strategic direction on the integration and expansion of a customer-based business approach to recreation management. Tasks shall be for improving operational effectiveness and program alignment, revising the Region?s recreation/wilderness/heritage performance measurement system, providing customer service and marketing advice, developing and expanding Regional interpretative program offerings, and providing general recreation leadership and expertise. Major products to be prepared include Forest and Regional-level plans and reports, implementation (action) plans, business alignment matrixes, performance reviews/reports, and analysis tools and products. The government anticipates awarding an IDIQ labor hours contract on or about the end of March 2007.
