- The United States Postal Service intends to award a Design Build Guaranteed Maximum Price contract for construction of the Great Neck Carrier Annex (project # A44511) will be a new 2-story building on East Shore Road in Great Neck, NY. The property is bordered by East Shore Road to the west, neighboring properties to the north and south and Manhasset Bay to the east. The structure consists of a steel frame with poured concrete slabs at the ground/first floor and poured concrete on steel deck floor slabs at the upper/second floor. Construction throughout the building is to be one hour fire rated. The first floor consists of offices, locker and toilet rooms, lunch room and mechanical/electrical rooms. The second floor consists of the workroom, loading area, Investigative Office, storage rooms and toilets. Employee parking is on the ground level adjacent to the first floor of the building, starting 4-foot-6-inch below the first floor and sloping down the site to the rear setback line, with spaces for 79 vehicles. The postal vehicle loading area is directly above the employee parking, 4-foot-0-inch below the second floor level, with spaces for 15 postal vehicles and 3 semi-trailers. Ramps connect the vehicle areas to the street. Vertical circulation in the building consists of an elevator and egress stairs at the southeast and southwest corners. Estimated design build project cost $10,340,000.00 to $12,920,000.00 All areas described are approximate; exact areas are denoted on plans and specifications available from LDI Reproprinting Center listed below. The total period for design and construction of the project will be 400 days from the date indicated on the Notice to Proceed.
