Description
Solicitation Number S-WHARC-07-Q-0015 Questions and Answers, Round 2 Question #5: Are the trucks required to be manufactured in the U.S.? Answer #5: No. The vehicles are not required to be manufactured in the U.S. Question #6: Is the Ocean Vessel to La Paz, Bolivia required to be made on a U.S. flag vessel? Answer #6: See FAR clause 52.247-64, Preference for Privately Owned U.S.-Flag Commercial Vessels, which is included in the solicitation. The FAR can be accessed on the Internet at http://acquisition.gov/far/index.html. Question #7: "Having zero miles" - The units we are offering will be from factory so they will be "new," but we may have to move the vehicles to our supplier to get the winches mounted - max approx. 15/20 miles total - would this low mileage be an issue? Answer #7: A very few miles would not be an issue, provided that it can be clearly shown that the miles are directly related to preparing the vehicles for delivery under the contract. The main point is that it must be clear that the vehicles are new from the factory, and that they were not used as demonstration vehicles or in any other capacity that is inconsistent with being classified as new vehicles. Question #8: 4.2.19. lists door locks - do they want manual or power locks? Answer #8: Manual locks are sufficient. Question #9: Is this a small business set aside? Answer #9: No. This is not a small business set-aside. Question #10: Is there a specific manufacturer that is being considered because they already have vehicles in use by the Govt of Bolivia? Answer #10: We are not mandating a specific manufacturer. Any vehicle that meets the specifications included in the FedBizOpps notice may be quoted.
