- NOTICE: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The information provided in response to this notice will assist the Government in determining the extent of the size and socio-economic market for the type of work described herein. The intent of the announcement is to identify sources that are qualified business concerns capable of providing (1) Location and storage of specimens within commuting distance of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) at the NOAA Western Regional Center, Seattle, WA, which will provide for easy and frequent access by AFSC staff; (2) Have the ability to store specimens in an archival scientific collection, readily accessible to the scientific community; (3) Have the capability to store early life history specimens as well as the more general ability to store adult specimens; and (4) Make available the collection?s catalog via the internet. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed price contract for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Western Region Acquisition Division (WRAD) will be awarded. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 519120 with a size standard of $6.5 million. All contractors doing business with the Government are now required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). NOTE: THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL BUT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. No solicitation document is available. No contract will be awarded on the basis of responses received to this notice. Interested firms should submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business type and size, CCR information, and a brief narrative regarding its capability to provide the services as described above. It is the Governments intent to analyze responses from firms which can operate in the areas of consideration as specified above and determine the appropriate market from which procurement of these services are best obtained. Detailed information must be submitted by mail to the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, WRAD, 7600 Sand Point Way N.E., Seattle, WA 98115-6349, ATTN: Judi M.
