- This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The NOAA National Weather Service, Weather Forecast Office located in Tucson, AZ has a requirement for a dome that can house the Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS) for their upper air program in Tuczon, AZ. The intended acquisition is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with Mekco Manufacturing Incorporated. Purpose of proposed contract is to purchase quantity of one (1) each Mekco Model 94134RD Dome. Mekco Model 94134RD is required due to size and space restrictions. The dome has to fit on a 10?x10? pad and has to weigh under 1100 pounds. Walls must allow a signal of 1680 mhz to be received with only a loss of only .5 decibels (dbs). Inside clearance must be 105? wide and 157? high. Access door must be 2?x8? x 6?x8?. Door will house an antenna that measures 7? wide x12?6? high. The required delivery date of this acquisition is April 15, 2007. This notice may represent the only official notice. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to Mekco Manufacturing Incorporated without further notice. This is a small purchase action estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
