- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for collection and transportation of Class A Recyclable services in the discipline area of the Safety Department at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix, located at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Services will be required for the time period March 1, 2007 through February 29, 2008. The Government intends to make a single award for this requirement. The estimated quantities for the contract are as follows: one (1) pick up a month. The work shall include, but is not limited to the provisions of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to remove and transfer the recyclable materials being stored at FCI Ft. Dix. The work shall include picking up recyclable materials at no charge to the government and providing compensation based on current market rates (Spot Market Rate). The contractor will provide transportation to remove materials stored in roll-off containers. The containers will be owned and retained by the institution and at no time will be considered the property of the contractor. Items that are being baled, such as cardboard and HPDE Plastics will be transfer loaded into a trailer owned by the contractor. The trailer will be required to be of a walking floor type, avoiding the need for a forklift inside the unit. The trailer will be live loaded by the Owner using a forklift provided by the institution. A site visit will determined at a later date for all interested bidders. The Contractor will be in compliance with HSPD-12. The solicitation will be available on or after February 20, 2007, and will be distributed through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available except in extreme circumstances and only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government's best interest.
