Description
The U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado is seeking information from businesses interested in and capable of performing a long term elevator maintenance/repair contract. Proposals are currently not requested. Solicitation is anticipated in the spring of 2007 for a target 1 Oct 07 contract start. Contract duration will be base plus 4 option years. Requirement includes preventive maintenance, repair, 2-hour emergency response, inspection, testing and certification (semi-annual, annual, 3-year, 5-year), quality control and record keeping for approximately 82 elevators, wheelchair lifts, vertical freight lifts, dumbwaiters and dock levelers located in 21 separate buildings. The contractor provides qualified supervision and technicians, transportation, equipment, tools, supplies, materials, parts and other items or services as necessary. All services are performed in accordance with applicable ANSI/ASME standards by certified mechanics subject to a collective bargaining agreement. Elevators are of various types, manufacturers, capacities and ages. Summary follows: 36 passenger elevators (19 cable, 14 hydraulic, 3 roped hydraulic), 20 freight elevators (15 hydraulic, 5 cable), 3 dumbwaiters (cable), 4 handicap lifts (electrical), 5 freight lifts (hydraulic), 14 dock levelers (3 mechanical, 11 hydraulic). Specifically, information shall include but is not limited to: (1) ability to service large commercial clients, (2) points of contact for current or past customers with contract requirements of similar size and scope, (3) technical expertise, experience, training and certification in servicing passenger/freight elevators of various types, manufacturers and sizes, (4) available inventories and ability to acquire parts, and (5) explanation of how a geographically separated business would meet requirements in Colorado Springs.
