- The Federal Highway Administration (FHW) plans to award a sole source purchase order to EDAX, Incorporated to procure a Genesis 2000 XMS Upgrade Package and the Genesis EDX Partide/Phase Analysis Software. Upgrading of the system will include new and improved features for SEM imaging, X-ray mapping and more. The Genesis 2000 SMX is essential to the FHWA research laboratory functions and research process. No other known source can provide the upgrade to the system. EDAX is the manufacture of this system and another contractor performing the upgrade would affect the system warranty. The anticipated award date on this requirement is on or about March 2, 2007.
