- This amendment is issued to respond to additional questions submitted by a contractor. Question: The industry convention for measurement is length by width by height. Going by the information provided in the amendment would make the kennel 12 feet high. We assume that is incorrect and the measurements are 12L x 6W x 6H. Please clarify. Response: The kennel shall be approximately 48"W X52"H X 74?L - The run area that attaches to it once put together shall be at least 12'L X 4'W X 6'H. The run hardware all fits inside the kennel for deployment purposes. This requirement of storing the run inside the kennel for movement is a strict requirement for deployment purposes. The kennel run is 6' high is a correct statement. Question: The note at the bottom is difficult to understand. A one piece kennel cannot slide because it is one piece. Please clarify. Response: This should be a one piece kennel and no component slides in any way on this kennel. The dog kennel should attach to the dog run. Question: Are drawings available for review? Response: No. The Government does not have any drawings. Question: Solid wall panels on four sides may not allow for adequate ventilation. DOD veterinary command has required jail bar style on our latest kennels for ventilation and elimination of sharp edges. Are solid walls required on all four sides? Response: The stated specification requires high denisity polyester sides on the kennel runs for the dog's safety. The other reason is to block the dog from the outside world, helping to keep them calm. The front and back are ventilated. Vendors must understand this is for the dog run area, not the kennel itself. There is no such requirement for jail style bars on kennel runs.
