THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. The tracking number for this announcement is W912DR-07-S-0008. The NAICS code for this proposed acquisition is 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering) and the Federal Supply Code is Z219 (Other Conservation & Development Facilities). The Government will use responses to this SOURCES SOUGHT synopsis to make appropriate acquisition decisions regarding the type of procurement to be utilized to obtain the services. The Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District is soliciting a capability statement from all qualified and interested parties for the Pierce Creek Channel Repairs, Binghamton, New York. The Baltimore Dis trict, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is looking to contract for repairs to the Pierce Creek flood control channel in Binghamton, New York. The channel was damaged during heavy rain and high flows in November 2006. Approximately 2000 linear feet of channel will be repaired under the proposed contract. The repairs will include channel clearing, where the debris and sediment were washed into the channel during flooding, and must be removed. Approximately 5000 cubic yards of material will be cleared from the channel, and disposed of off site by the contractor. The streambanks along the damaged channel were eroded, and will require reshaping. New riprap will be placed along approximately 600 linear feet of streambank. Additional work items include placing fi ll and seeding eroded areas adjacent to the flood control channel, and installation of an access ladder into the channel. The Government invites contractors with the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements to submit Capability Sta tements consisting of: 1) Firms name, address, point of contact, telephone & fax numbers; 2) Size determination of firm: (Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Small Disadvantaged Veteran Owned Small Business, or Women Owned Small Business); 3) Submit proof of projects that have been completed including the name of the project, point of contact with phone number for the owner of the project, the project duration dates, the final contract value and a short description of your role and work perf ormed (less than 200 words). To be considered projects must have the following elements: a) Company served as the prime contractor (or was a joint venture) b) The project must have been successfully completed within the last five to ten years c) The projects must be similar in size, scope and dollar value to the project of interest. The Capabilities Statement for this sources sought is not considered to be a proposal, but rather a short statement regarding the companys ability to demonstrate existing or developed expertise and experience in relation to the areas specified herein. Ex isting marketing material may also be submitted with the Capabilities Statement. The submission of a Capabilities Statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Corps in tailoring requirements to be co nsistent with industry capabilities. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is neither to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents WILL NOT be notified of t he results of the evaluation. Offers that do not meet all requirements or submit within the allotted time will not be considered.
