Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: The Census Bureau is conducting market research to identify available sources for the proposed services below: TITLE: Sign Language Services DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The Census Bureau Disability Program Office?s mission is to increase accessibility of existing Census Bureau facilities, provide training opportunities on disability related topics, increase the accessibility of information technology, remove barriers to the employment and advancement of persons of all abilities, and improve communication within the disability community, internally and externally. It is anticipated that Census Bureau Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees would require sign language services during Census Bureau functions on a daily basis. //// The Contractor shall provide sign language services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing communication needs of Census Bureau employees, visitors, and applicants. These services shall include: * Provide sign language services for formal and informal meetings, classroom training, seminars, conferences, ceremonies, and luncheons at all Census Bureau locations , primarily at Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland, and other offsite locations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. * Work assignments that may be highly technical or legal in nature, such as: demographic and economic statistics, census survey terminology, case law discussion, Federal personnel laws and regulations, and government acronyms. * Some information discussed during a work assignment may be confidential in nature, accordingly, contract interpreters need to be able to pass a security background investigation and be sworn in as appropriate. * Work jointly with Census Bureau?s staff or contract sign language interpreters. * Provide accessibility services at all scheduled events regardless if there is an actual need. (In accordance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and applicable Census Bureau policies, any event that is open to all employees must be made accessible via Interpreter and/or closed captioning, regardless of whether or not a member of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community is present.) * Capability to receive and coordinate requests for services via telephone, e-mail, facsimile, or online. ///// The government anticipates that the services will be provided through a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). ///// RESPONSE: Request companies interested in this project, and who qualify as an contractor under NAICS Code 541930 or similar code, email their company background, capabilities and business size to Mr. Paul Boesch at the below email address.
