For a copy of the full solicitation and response requirements please contact Sue La Croix at 503-668-1781 STATEMENT OF NEED The PNW-FIA Data Collection Team will conduct Field Crew Training from April 2 through April 14, 2007. This includes a need for lodging and meals during the weekend (April 7th and 8th). A facility/location is needed that will house and feed the entire PNW Data Collection Team (California, Oregon, and Washington) of approximately 45 ? 50 people. We will also be hosting presenters who will be need meals and lodging on a case by case basis; this could increase our group size to a maximum of 55. We can provide a firmer day by day break down regarding logistics for meals and lodging no sooner than a week prior to this session. The training session will include on-site lecture and field lab opportunities described below. The facility should be within 200 miles (4 hours travel time) of Portland, OR and also should be no greater than 20 miles from an established town that has adequate lodging for additional guests should we need the flexibility. Preferably, accommodations should not be bunkhouse style and no more than 2 individuals to a room (though we could consider more than 2 to a room under some circumstances depending on the size and comfort of the space). The contract shall be for one (1) base year (FY2007) with the option to renew four (4) option years (FY2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011) after award. Facilities should include: Lodging for 50 people ? Conference/meeting room large enough to accommodate 50 people plus presenters with adequate lighting and suitable for use of audio/visual equipment. A classroom setting with tables and chairs that is modifiable for both lecture style presentations as well as demonstrations that may need space to move around freely. ? 1 or 2 additional meeting rooms for breakout sessions - not necessarily classroom style that can accommodate up to 20 people. ? Grounds on the property or within walking distance with forested areas suitable and accessible for field lab exercises. This includes a variety of plant and tree species and forest types on relatively flat ground (< 20% slopes). ? Housekeeping of the guest rooms that include a daily change in towels and restrooms that are maintained and cleaned. ? Restrooms accessible from the guest rooms that are shared by no more than 2-5 people. Meals: The meals shall be buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetarian choices should be available for every meal. Breakfast should include a meat, eggs, fruit, toast, cereal, juices and coffee. Lunch items shall be available in the morning for the (50) individuals to make their own sandwiches and choose and make their own sack lunches. Bags and sandwich wraps shall be provided by the vendor for this purpose. Lunch items should include choices such as a variety of meats and cheeses for sandwiches, a choice of type of bread, condiments, fruit, crackers, cookies, and canned or packaged drinks (juice or soda.) Dinner buffet including a meat entree such as baked salmon, chicken, or beef tenderloin, vegetarian main dish, a variety of vegetables, salad, and dessert.
