- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) to provide maintenance and enhancements to the deercrash.com website. The FHWA is managing the pooled fund study and providing in-kind services. The website is part of the pooled fund contribution of (and is owned by) the Wisconsin, Department of Transportation (WisDOT). This is not a Federal Highway Administration system. The website will be the information source for the continuation and expansion activities of the pooled fund project. The website is currently located at TTI. TTIs staff is recognized nationally and internationally for their expertise in the deer vehicle collision (DVC) area. They have years of expertise in roadway design and safety evaluation. It is this matchless combination when added to their creation and expansion of the website that make TTI uniquely qualified to maintain and enhance the website. Because of TTI?s unique background and experience, no other known source can provide the required services. The anticipated award date is on or about February 26, 2007.
