Description
This is not a request for proposals. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. U.S. Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco located at the International Airport in San Francisco, CA is searching for sources that can provide literature, plans, etc. in response to this announcement within 14 days of this announcement. The Government is searching for sources that can assess, design new or alter an existing stair system and complete the installation of a vertical entry system into an existing elevated shop space above an aviation hangar. The current access to the space is accomplished using a long diagonal staircase system with the use of one intermediate landing separating an upper and lower section of stairs both with separate slopes. The upper stair system is much steeper and creates a potential falling hazard. The final solution should include an entry method compliant with local building codes and OSHA requirements for personnel safety including the slope of the stairs, appropriate use of intermediate landings, and an adequate handrail to prevent personal falls and injuries. The Government is also interested in examining all possible solutions to shop entry including the installation of an elevator. All companies that can meet the specification are encouraged to provide a capability statement, company literature, brochures, or any other information that demonstrates that the specifications can be met. Any questions concerning the technical specifications or to schedule a tour of the existing aircraft servicing locations should be directed to LCDR Ed Sheppard at 650-808-2950 or Edward.B.SheppardJr@uscg.mil and other questions should be directed to Mrs. Deborah Cefaratti at 510-437-3195 or Deborah.S.Cefaratti@uscg.mil . Any capability statements, company literature, brochures or any other information should be mailed to the following address: U.S. Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco San Francisco International Airport Bldg. 1020 San Francisco, CA 94128 ATTN: LCDR Ed Sheppard
