- This synopsis is to provide ADVANCE NOTICE of the Navy?s Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) requirement. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requirement for Department of the Navy (DoN) LSS CPI support at a Naval Enterprise Level, to include all Navy installations and deployed assets, as well as the associated DoN Enterprise interfaces. The contractor shall provide the following: CPI deployment consultation and project coaching; classroom and computer-based training with certification in LSS; analogous tools, methodologies, and principles to facilitate organizational effectiveness, and efficiencies and cultural change through a comprehensive multi-tiered training curriculum. The Navy?s objectives for this effort are to develop and deploy the skills and tools necessary to reduce cost, improve quality of work life, and increase process speed and repeatability. This procurement will allow the DoN to become self-sufficient through a train-the-trainer process by training Government personnel in LSS CPI; some of these personnel will be trained to the level of Master BB upon which time they will become LSS CPI trainers and train other Government personnel in LSS CPI concepts. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 611430 and the Federal Supply Code is U099. An Industry Day will be conducted for this requirement. Information regarding the Industry Day will be provided in a DRAFT RFP, which will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage in the near future at: http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations/. A notice will be posted on the FedBizOpps website when the DRAFT RFP becomes available.
