- Description
- This work consists of the construction of four (4) segments of levees along the southern section of the Municipality of Fajardo, a low flow structure, one road ramp, interior drainage facilities, and utility relocations. The interior drainage element includes a culvert under Jerusalem Avenue and five drainage structures. There will also be a wetland mitigation plan, which will compensate for permanent habitat losses due to implementation of the project. This mitigation calls for the acquisition, fenc ing and replanting of the mangrove trees in 35-square mile area that will serve as a buffer between agricultural lands and the Ceiba Forest. The project once completed will protect the communities of Maternillo, Maison del Sapo, Play Fajardo at Punta Faja rdo, the Santa Isidra development, the Pueblo sector and San Pedro Development located on the southern fringe of the town of Fajardo The base work consists of phase 1 construction of Structure S-1 and the access road to the Punta Fajardo Levee, the Punta Fajardo Levee, construction of structure S-2 and the Santa Isidra Levee. Phase 2 of the base work is the construction of the mitigati on area. Option A consists of phase 3 construction of structures S-3, S-4, S-5 and S-6 followed by the construction of the Pueblo (East and West) and San Pedros Levees. Option A also includes phase 4 construction of the detour and road at Marcelito Gotay Ave., Pueblo East Levee and interior drainage ditches. Performance period is 540 calendar days including Option A. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Solicitation will be issued on or about 26 February 2007 and open on or about 11 April 2007. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUI SITION. There will be a price preference for certified HUBZone small business concerns that comply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307. ALL RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. Solicitation will be issued using the FeDTedS system. Interested bidders must register with FedTEDS.
