Description
This is an amendment to the combined synopsis to provide clarification on some specifications as follows: Airspeed range is now 0.2 to 0.5 mach and Tensile strength is now 210 lbs. All other information remains the same. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-14 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 20070122. This acquisition is a small business set-aside. NAICS is 334513 and the size standard is 500. Solicitation is for commercial purchase of Trailing Cones. The 412th Flight Test Wing Engineering Instrumentation Division, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is looking to procure the Trailing Cones (Quantity ? 2) based on the following Specifications provided: Trailing Cone Specifications: Dimensions: Tube Length: 300 feet end to end Cone Diameter: 10in Cone Length: 12in-15in Airspeed: .2 to .9 mach Operating Temperature: -55deg C to +125degC Pressure range: 0 ? 32 inches Hg Tubing: Material: Nylaflow Diameter: .375in Tensile strength: 300lb minimum Fittings: Swivel Nut AN818-6J Stainless Steel w/safety wire holes Static pressure tube: Material: Stainless Steel Diameter: .375in dia Length: 10 ? 12.0 inches Static pressure accuracy: .25% Static ports: 36-48 holes .025in diameter, Connection: swaged / bonded laminar smooth transition Static pressure ports location: min 5 cone lengths ahead of cone attachment Trailing Cone: Cone angle: 32-42deg Stabilization holes: 12 ? 24, 4-8 circumferential rows equally spaced Material: Composite Fiberglas, Carbon Graphite, or Phenolic Tensile strength: 300lb minimum Air speed rating: .2- .8 mach Altitude: sea level to 100,000feet Temperature range: -70degC to 350degC Attachment to tube: AN6 Swivel Nut 3/8in Stainless Steel w/safety wire holes and internal cone bearing and lock nut for replacement. Tensile load test certification on tubing and trailing cone assembly.
