Description
Provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and supervision necessary to construct Project #521-06-903, "SLT Cart Wash", at the Birmingham VA Medical Center, Birmingham, AL. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for construction as required by drawings and specifications. The work will consist of, but not limited to painting, plus relocate existing steam piping, water and, sanitary lines and valves where applicable (steam piping to be black steel schedule 40). Also construct new dust barrier, remove and relocate doors, lights, thermostat, electrical control for cart and receptacles. Job will have to be done in phases: Phase#1 Construct Dust Barrier. Phase#2 Remove Cart Wash (performed by others). Phase#3 Install, remove and relocate required utilities. Phase#4 Perform construction under main bid. Phase#5 Install cart wash (performed by others). Phase#6 Remove dust barrier, clean-up and demobilize. Completion time is 45 (Forty-Five) calendar days. It is a requirement of this contract that the awarded contractor will be required to provide an OSHA certified "competent person" who shall have 30 hours of the OSHA Certified Construction Safety Course, all other persons working on this project shall have completed the 10 hour OSHA Certified Construction Safety Course, all certificate will be required prior to starting the job. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or about February 23, 2007, with an estimated bid opening date of March 23, 2007. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds, and is SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) procurement. There will be one (1) pre-bid conferences and walk through of the project, and it is highly recommended that all who intend to submit a bid attend. The walk through time and location will be addressed on page one (1) of the solicitation. All solicitation packages will be available for downloading from the website www.fedbizopps.gov listed in this announcement. NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE PROVIDED. However, drawings will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Only twenty-five (25) sets of drawings will be issued.
