- Your firm is invited to participate in a survey to determine commercial interest in bidding to perform logistics services including, but not limited to logistics operations support; transportation (to include locomotive operations); supply and servic es; and maintenance operations currently being performed by civil service employees at Fort Leonard Wood 25 miles south-west of Rolla, Missouri. The Department of the Army (DA), Installation Management Command (IMCOM) is conducting Preliminary Planning to determine the feasibility of competing the logistics function identified in this survey at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Your input will help determine the most appropriate scoping and grouping of these functions for commercial competition in anticipation of rel easing a solicitation under Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76. Fort Leonard Wood provides realistic training in basic combat skills, chemical, engineering, transportation and military police disciplines. The Logistics personnel have ov erall responsibility for training, coordination, planning, safety, and execution of the major logistics responsibilities such as logistics management, transportation (to include locomotive operations), supply distribution, sewing operations, clothing opera tions, light/heavy vehicle repair, lawn mower repair, electronics repair, gun repair, ammunition transport and storage, and furniture/textile operations. These responsibilities include support of all on-post and off-post customers. Logistic activities support Fort Leonard Woods mission to provide the best training and support anywhere. The function under consideration at Fort Leonard Wood is: Logistics (305) Full Time Equivalents (FTE) The questions are divided into two sections: basic comp any information and market interest. The company information questions cover contact information, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes, company size, current firm functional capa bilities, past performance and level of interest (rank ed 1-5.) The market interest questions allow for the ranking of initially proposed grouping options, alternative scenarios and documentation of key risk areas. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued on an open market basis to the private secto r community. This RFI is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), and nothing shall be construed herein or through the RFI process to commit or obligate the Government to further action as a result of the RFI. In addition, contractors responding to this RFI s hall bear all risk and expense of any resources used to provide the requested information. The information collected through this process is considered to be mark et research as described by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 2.101 and in accordance with FAR 10.002(b)(2)(iii).
