Description
1. SCOPE OF SERVICES: In support of the VA Diagnostic Imaging Service, the Contractor shall furnish the equivalent of a part-time (1 to 3 days per week), interventional/diagnostic radiologist to perform interventional/diagnostic radiological services at VAMC at the discretion of the VA Management. Normal working hours for on-site coverage will be 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. Contractor may be requested to provide services on Saturday or Sunday if required. Hours per week depends upon the needs of VAMC. Any hours over 8 per scheduled day require the Acting Chief of The Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) or The DIS Administrative Officer (A.O.) approval. Daily documentation of arrival and departure time is required. Requests for Vacations/time off require 30 day advance notice to the chief of DIS/AO and subsequent approval from the chief of DIS/AO. Invoices need to be submitted at least monthly by the first scheduled day of the following month. 2. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: a. Provide clinical care to patients undergoing invasive radiological testing such as biopsies, drainages, IVC filter placements, and angiography procedures. b. Provide consultations to other clinical services and other VA facilities. c. Promptly verify all exam reports within 48 hours. d. Provide services within the boundaries of clinical privileges, scopes of practice and terms and conditions of the contract. e. Perform all other functions essential to assisting the radiology service in furnishing the highest quality of service and continuity of patient care. f. Provide interpretation of radiological studies using voice recognition software. Contractor radiologist must be qualified by training and experience to provide on-site teaching and supervision to medical students and house officers. Contractor radiologist must also be qualified by training and experience to provide attending physicians and trainees effective and timely on-site consultation and participate in person at Tumor Boards and similar patient care/quality assurance conferences.
