Description
The High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office (HPCMP) is sponsoring a Performance Modeling and Prediction Workshop, to be held on March 1, 2007, in Arlington, VA. This Workshop is to familiarize the HPC vendor community with the performance modeling methodology that is targeted for use in analysis and performance predictions in the upcoming Technology Insertion (TI)-08 HPC procurement activity. It is important that each HPC vendor that is interested in submitting a TI-08 quote participate in the workshop, including the vendor's technical staff involved in benchmarking and performance modeling; i.e. a part of this workshop will present a technical approach to performance modeling and HPCMP is interested in technical feedback. Note that eligible TI-08 vendors must be original equipment manufactures who: (1) have offerings obtainable via existing GSA Contracts under Schedule 70 ?General Purpose Commercial Information Technology Equipment, Software, Services?; (2) have demonstrated success in large scale manufacturing, delivery and acceptance of commercially available, production HPC systems. Furthermore, the Government financial appropriations associated with this acquisition do not permit the purchase of any supercomputer which is not manufactured in the United States; and (3) have clearances allowing access to sensitive DoD technology and facilities. Potential bidders meeting the above criteria that are interested in attending the Performance Modeling and Prediction Workshop should contact Ms. April O'Connor, General Services Administration, no later than February 16, 2007. Please send an email to april.o'connor@gsa.gov, and provide the name of your company, a primary POC with email and phone number and names of those targeted to attend. Each potential bidder should plan to send no more than three persons from their company. Participation in this workshop does not require a security clearance. A separate FedBizOpps announcement initiating the TI-08 acquisition will be published on or about February 23rd. The TI-08 Phase I RFQ will be released to pre-qualified bidders on or about April 20.
