Description
The government is seeking sources for the procurement, delivery and assembly of a total of 27 environmentally friendly steel aviation and armor targets for three separate installations. MCAS Cherry Point is in need of ten targets that replicate BRDMs for installation on Bombing Target (BT) 11. MCB Camp Butler requires a mix of vehicle replicas; three BRDMs, three BMPs and four T72 tanks for installation in the central training area. MCB Hawaii requires two BRDMs, two BMPs and three T-72 tank replicas for installation in the Kaneohe Bay Range and Training Facility. These targets, commonly known as ?Green Targets,? are unique in the industry and were designed specifically to be helicopter transportable, environmentally friendly and extremely durable to withstand impacts from large caliber weapons. These targets are made from sheet steel with interlocking slots that fit together to keep it erect and three-dimensional. They have coatings to give the appearance of th e actual vehicle without having any material that is harmful to the environment. The helicopter transportability reduces the need for explosive ordinance clearing of routes into the target area. The contractor shall furnish the necessary services, supplies, FOB destination delivery to the bases at MCAS Cherry Point NC, MCB Camp Butler, Okinawa JA and MCB Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI. Installation and assembly is required. The anticipated delivery date is 90 days after contract award. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 15 days after publication of this notice. NO CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
