Description
The Fleet Readiness Center, Southeast (FRC) formerly known as the NAVAIR Depot Jacksonville FL, has a requirement for repair services for the J52-P-408B turbojet engine Inner Combustion Chamber Case, part numbers 2191420 and 739414, a Critical Flight Safety Item. Service requires the contractor to restore the mating surface Outside Diameter (OD) to the service limits of 14.598 inches to 14.602 inches while maintaining a maximum out of round tolerance of less than 0.020 inches. The front flange material is AMS 57054, and must remain as such. All respective repair requirements are provided within the NAVAIR 02B 10DAD 6 2V4 Work Package 07600 and NAVAIR 02B 10DAC 6V4 2 Work Package 083 00. All applicable repair processes and procedures shall be in accordance with NAVAIR 02-1-217 Standard Maintenance Procedures. Estimate 50 seals per year. Because of the criticality of the item to be repaired, only prospective offerors who have an approved Source Approval Request (SAR) will be considered for award. To be considered for this procurement, the deadline for submission of SARs is 2 March 2007. Contractors who have previously passed the SAR approval process for repair of part 2191420 and 739414 are required to resubmit. Required documents for SAR submission can be obtained by contacting Bethany Germann, COMFISC Jacksonville at (904)542-1073. Only qualified/approved contractors will be eligible for award. Offers received from sources that do not have an approved SAR will be considered technically unacceptable. Additionally, the successful offeror shall be required to pass 1st Article Testing requirements and meet ISO 9002 requirements. The anticipated contract period of performance is 1 August 2007 to 31 July 2008 with four one-year option periods. The solicitation will be made available to the public via posting on FedBizOpps. The anticipated release date is 2 April 2007. Only written or electronic responses to the solicitation will be accepted. The deadline for receipt of responses will be identified on the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered by the agency. This procurement is subject to the Service Contract Act and the place of performance in unknown. The Contracting Officer will request wage determination if asked to do so in writing by 15 April 2007.
