Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego, Seal Beach Division intends to procure a fixed price contract for the design, performance, delivery, installation, and testing of the Fault Tolerant Microwave Equipment. The Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) currently has 155 Mb/s microwave links between Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island (NI) to San Clemente Island (SCI). Due to topography two legs are used. The first leg is a 10 mile link from NASNI to Mt. Soledad. At each end there is an Alcatel MDR-4308s hot standby radio connected to an Andrews UHX-8 antenna. The second leg is a 72 mile link from Mt. Soledad to SCI. At each end there is an Alcatel MDR-4308s high power, quad diversity unit connected to a pair of Andrews UHX-12 antennas. High power/quad diversity is required because of the long distance and poor propagation characteristics of the over-the-water shot. SCORE requires more bandwidth between NAS North Island and SCI in order to meet e xpanding fleet training requirements. An additional capacity of 155Mb/s is required. The existing bandwidth available is being exceeded and causing degradation of service. The added OC3 link will allow SCORE to run the Virtual Large Area Networks (VLANS) on the new link and free up the existing link from overload. As part of this effort the vendor shall be required to retune the existing Alcatel MDR-4308S Microwave radios to operate new frequencies. This procurement is in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division, Corona, CA 92878. This is an Unrestricted requirement. The NAICS Code is 334220. The size standard is 750 people. The Government anticipates that a site survey may be conducted. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted by 21 Feb 2007 on both FEDBIZOPPS (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) and NECO (http://www.neco.navy.mil/). Registration in the CCR database is required, registration is free and can be completed on-line at http://www.c cr.gov/. In addition, quoters shall complete an electronic Online Repr esentations and Certifications Application (ORCA). ORCA can be found at http://orca.bpn.gov.
