Description

This announcement is notice of intent to award a supply contract for a DCP (Data Collection Platform) purchase for Reservoir Control Section of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District Office in Fort Worth, TX to an approved sole source co ntractor in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii). The Contractor shall furnish total 33 ea of DCP units (Product Name: Satlink2 with Display, in Enclosure, Product Description: Satlink Kit, Product #: SL2-ENC-DISP-1). A DCP is a device that is capable of collecting storing, and transmitting data. Sutron Corporation is the manufacturer of the DCPs in place at all existing district sites. Since Sutron is the only DCP manufacturer currently in use in the US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District and w ith the Fort Worth Districts co-operative program with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The Fort Worth District uses Sutron DCPs and associated equipment to collect real-time hydrologic data from Corps lakes and approximately 300 stream gaging stations. This data is used for making river and lake forecasts and associated reservoir regulation decision. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 334513, business size standard is 500 employees. The sole source contractor is Sutron C orporation, 21300 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling, VA 20166. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to Sutron. However, any contractors who believe that they have the capability to meet the listed qualifications may submit, for consideration by the government, a statement of capability. Comments are due by 10 A.M. (CST) on 12 February 2007. If no comments are received by the closing date, a purchase order will be issued to the above named sole source.
