Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a Delivery Order (DO) under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-05-G-0015 with General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products (GDATP), Burlington, Vermont. This DO shall procure a study to determine the operational interface conditions between the M197 gun, ammunition feed chute and turret interface. The services shall include technical reviews, and engineering investigations for 20MM M197 gun system and ammunition feed system interface. This DO shall be issued on a sole source basis to GDATP, the sole designer, developer and original equipment manufacturer of the M61A1/A2, GAU-12, M197 and associated gun system hardware. Additionally, under the current destructive device regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, General Dynamics is the only certified manufacturer of the above-specified aircraft cannons. Unless otherwise stated herein, no formal request for proposal or additional written information is currently available. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis is published for information purposes only. (THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS). The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for the supplies anticipated needed herein is 541330.
