Description
The contractor shall provide services and repairs to refurbish HMMWV trucks. Repair work includes: inspection, repair and/or replacement of major assemblies and subassemblies (suspension components, bodywork and frame repairs, glass, steering, fron t end, drive train, and brake components, radiator, hoses and belts repair or replacement. Some tasks may require light welding. Vehicles with 6.2L engines shall have 6.5L detuned engines installed. Vehicles with 60 or 100 amp alternators shall have 200 amp alternators installed. Vehicle safety enhancements (combat locks, fire suppression, seat belts, gunners restraint, VIC-3 intercom, frag kits, gunner protection kits, etc.) will be installed as MWOs. Some vehicles requiring repair may have sustained battle damage. Contractor shall be knowledgeable of and actively employ Lean Six Sigma practices. HMMWV Models: Primarily M1114s but potential for refurb of all HMMWV variants. Production requirement: Minimum of 150 HMMWVs per month Facility / Location: Contractor facility located in Kuwait within 50 kilometers of Camp Arifjan; must have ability/capability to transport vehicles to and from Camp Arifjan. Supply: Must have ability to obtain repair parts through the Government supply system. Ability to CARC paint vehicles is preferred but not a necessity. The Government anticipates awarding a Cost Plus Incentive Fee or Cost Plus Award Fee type contract.
