- Description
- The objective of this FX-AIRSS PRDA effort is to use applied research to design, build and fabricate a research and development (R&D) spacecraft with integrated WFOV, full-earth staring IR payloads attractive for missile detection from a geostationary orbit. FX-AIRSS key risk mitigation priorities are schedule, cost, and performance. The baseline schedule for award is late FY 2007. The effort will be approximately 5-7 years in duration and composed of design, build, test, and on-orbit analysis and operations support. Offerors should plan for an October 2010 launch date. While this PRDA effort is in support of risk reduction for the AIRSS program, the AIRSS system development contract will be a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15 full and open competition. The purpose of the release of this draft FX-AIRSS PRDA is to solicit industry feedback in the form of a White Paper to assist the Government in refining the final PRDA solicitation. White Paper submission should occur in anticipation of a final PRDA release. The draft solicitation will be attached to this notice.
