Description
MARKET RESEARCH. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The United States Marine Corps has a requirement for a cooling system to improve the ability of the M1A1 Tank to cool the crew compartment. Currently, there is no dedicated cooling system in the M1A1 Tank. Crewmembers have no way to reduce the extreme temperatures experienced during the summer months. The climate control system improvement will be primarily to reduce heat stress and fatigue on the crewmembers by cooling the interior of the tank. The USMC is interested in any vendor that can take our existing M1A1 tank and incorporate improvements that will result in the ability to cool the crewmembers both when the engine is and is not running. Any potential vendor must be able to integrate onto a M1A1 without degrading performance of crew members, the engine power-pack, or the ability to fire weapons. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit copies of relevant documentation in response to this Request for Information at no cost to the Government. Written responses should be submitted not later than close of business 15 February 2007. Firms should also include literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. The submission of the product information should not be construed as a commitment to procure equipment. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted. Reponses should be submitted to the contact person listed above at Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN CT, Mary Lee Schuck, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS or SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOV ERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
