Description

The contractor shall furnish all equipment and sufficient personnel for selected tree pruning and removal and all related incidental work in accordance with the quote schedule and specifications stated herein. Therefore, any items not specifically noted, but necessary for performance in accordance with accepted industry standards, shall be furnished under this contract. This contract has a four year option. The contract covers all reservations under the jurisdiction of Rock Creek Park. This contract is intended to augment the in-house work forces at the park. Instances where the contractor may be called upon include performing tree maintenance tasks beyond the capabilities of the in-house work forces. This is a requirements-type contract. Quantities of work to be performed will be identified on individual delivery orders and subject to the specifications herein. The amount of work to be requested/performed under a single delivery order shall be no less than $3000. All work shall be under the direction and general supervision of an Arborist(s) certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) who possesses verifiable experience and technical competence in tree physiology, identification, diagnoses of disorders, and current tree care and safety practices in accordance with accepted industry standards. Verification of Arborist certification shall be presented to the COR before work begins in the park. A tentative date has been set for a preproposal conference at the Rock Creek Park Maintenance Yard, 5000 Glover Road, NW. Washington, DC, Monday , February 8, 2007 @10:00am. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria: 1)professional references and experience; 2)professional qualifications and training; 3)price; 4)methodology; 5)equipment; 6)workforce; 7)products; 8)safety plan . The solicitation will be issued electronically on the dept. of the Interior's National Business Center (NBC) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the NBC site. It is madatory that all contractors register in the Central Contractor Registration database (www.ccr.gov) prior to any award. Solicitation to follow announcement. Please provide three references to include: contact name, phone number and address and a brief narrative of experience/training etc. along with your proposal.
