- Description
- The Coast Guard wishes to undertake a program to better understand the fatigue life of the National Security Cutters. The objectives of this project are to study the structural adequacy through long-term monitoring of the condition of critical parts of the ship's structure, and by collecting sufficient data to more accurately predict the fatigue life of NSC Hulls Number 1 and 2 and to forecast structural maintenance needs for the NSC class. The specific tasks of this work are to perform a dedicated full-scale trials program and a model testing program. An important additional task is the management and organization of the project as a whole as well as for individual tasks. A complete solicitation will be published on or about 3/27/07.
