- Description
- The Uniformed Services University of the Health and Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, MD intends to acquire on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR PT. 13.106-(b) (1) with Photon Technology for a high speed ratio spectrofluorometer. Includes delta ram x tunable excitation source, sample compartment, emission channel monochromator, PMT detector, motor drives, interfaces, computer with monitor, laser printer and system controller software. This instrument is used to measure fluorescence levels in cells in cuvettes, optional fiber optic cable and detectors that interface with the University's Olympus research microscope to make ratio fluorescence measurements on individual cells. This item is being procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures of FAR Part 12 Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Sole source determination is based on the capability of obtaining multiple fluorescence ratio measurements (1000/sec for a single ratio; 250/sec for two ratios). The spectrofluorometer should also have the ability to rapidly switch excitation wavelengths (millisecond time frame) so the instrument can perform rapid kinetic measurements. This is not Request for Proposals (RFP). However, all interested parties may contact the Contracting Specialist for details.
