- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane. The Government intends to negotiate an option on Contract N00164-06-C-6951 with Exide Technologies for one Seawolf battery set. The Seawolf battery set consists of two strings of 120 cells, with 120 ?B? cells and 120 ?C? cells. Twelve spare cells (six ?B? cells and six ?C? cells) in trays are required for the Seawolf battery. A parts box will also be procured for the Seawolf battery set. A firm-fixed price contract modification is anticipated. The Seawolf battery set is required by 10/01/07. The Seawolf battery will be delivered to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNSY). Inspection and acceptance of the batteries will be at origin and delivery will be FOB destination. The applicable NAICS Classification is 335911 and the size standard is 500 employees. The Navy intends to negotiate this contract modification on a sole-source basis with Exide Corporation, d/b/a Exide Technologies, Aurora, IL based on FAR 6.302-1, only one source capable of meeting the Government?s requi rements.
